Welcome to our Nursery!

Our wonderful nursery team includes Mrs Matthews (Class Teacher), supported by our amazing HLTA, Mrs Hembury, and our dedicated learning support assistants, Mrs Nicolai, Mrs DeJesus and Mrs Harrington.

Throughout the year, our nursery children will embark on an exciting journey of discovery, learning and fun! In the Autumn Term, we begin by exploring who we are — learning about ourselves, our families and what makes each of us unique. This helps us build a sense of identity and belonging within our Nursery community. In the Spring term, we’ll be singing, rhyming and experimenting with sounds and materials as we explore the wonderful world of rhythm and rhyme! During the summer term, we become curious explorers and nature detectives, investigating the world around us through hands-on learning and our exciting Forest School sessions. Children will observe, question and discover as they deepen their understanding of the natural environment.

At Nursery, learning is play-based — every day brings opportunities for children to explore, imagine and create, both indoors and outdoors which can result in our pupils getting a little messy, so please don’t send them to nursery wearing their best coat. 

We also encourage a lifelong love of reading through our book-borrowing scheme, where children can take home stories to share with you. Reading together is a wonderful way to develop language, imagination and a love of books.
