Playleaders at Whitchurch Primary are:
- Enthusiastic and organised with excellent communication skills and good use of initiative
- Flexible, team player willing to take on various tasks as required
- Understanding the issues of equal opportunities
- Able to provide and facilitate safe and creative play
- Good at using their communication skills
Playleaders' Roles and Responsibilities at Whitchurch Primary:
- Encouraging and leading the children to get outside and take part in physical activity
- Setting up the play space and play equipment
- Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met
- Helping with club administration, where necessary
- Facilitating good communication with all
- Undertaking appropriate and relevant training
- Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure
- Ensuring that all activities, equipment and settings are safe, with relevant risk assessments undertaken
- Packing away the equipment used in the session
- Maintenance of kit and equipment, including safety checks
- Snack preparation
Mrs. Griffin and our Year 5 Play Leaders receiving a cheque for £500.00 from Vision for Education. The money will be used to replenish our playground equipment.
Year 5 pupils being trained to become 'Playground Pals' by anti-bullying company Bullies Out. They have learnt the skills they need for this role through fun activities and role play.
